The Hardin County Republican Women’s Club met Wednesday, October 16, in the party headquarters located at 5 North Detroit Street in Kenton.

President Stefani Epling called the meeting to order and led thirteen members in the Pledge of Allegiance.

Minutes were read and approved as corrected.  The Treasurer’s report was also approved.

Brenda Rainsburg reminded all that election campaign pins, buttons, shirts and other items are available to the public for purchase at party headquarters.  Hours are Monday, Wednesday and Friday from noon until 6:00 p.m.

Also, volunteers are needed to help at the headquarters during the sale; please contact Sally Newfer if you can help – 937-464-3031.  The shift can be split, if desired.

Associate member, Rob Radway, shared that Sally Newfer has resigned her position as publicity communications/ media chairman for the party.  A new volunteer, familiar with current media trends and communications, is needed for the position; if you are interested, contact Rob Radway.

Amy Purcell reported for the Board of Elections. Early voting has been very busy, averaging 150 voters per day since it began on October 8.  The office sent out almost 1600 absentee ballots for this election, with several being received already.  She also reported that poll worker training for the November 5th election has begun.

Under old business, Rainsburg reported the Adopt-A-Highway project has been completed for this year.  Thank you to all who helped. Additional volunteers will be needed for the 2025 season if we are to continue with this community service. Dates for the 2025 clean-up are set for April 12, June 14, August 9, and October 11.

Radway reported the recent Colonels Club fundraising dinner, held October 7th at Crimson Lane in Ada, was a success, with sixteen new Colonels introduced to the members.

Thanks were given to all who helped with the summer parade schedule, which included the Kenton Freedom, Forest Tree Town, and Ada Harvest & Herb Festivals.

Under new business, the Republican Women will participate in the Lions Christmas Parade, scheduled for November 26th in Kenton.  The group will meet following its November meeting to bag up candy for distribution to kids during the parade. Members are asked to bring their candy donations and snack-size baggies to that meeting.

The annual Christmas Dinner Party was set for Wednesday, December 18, starting at 6:00 p.m., at party headquarters. More information will be forthcoming soon to members.

With no further items to discuss, the meeting was adjourned at 7:45.
