Hardin Northern Local School District recently announced the launch of their new ‘Polar Pantry’.
In partnership with the West Ohio Food Bank, the Polar Pantry is being funded by a grant secured by Hardin County’s United Way that will help support and provide an after-school snack to members of after school extracurriculars and sports teams.
According to data from FeedingAmerica.org, Hardin County had a food insecurity rate of 16.3%. as of 2022. The school stated they are aware of the food insecurities that some of their students and families face in Hardin County, and this food pantry is a way of making sure no students go without food.
They gave a special thanks to the United Way of Hardin County and West Ohio Food Bank for partnering with them to make a positive difference in their youth.
