Kenton Lions Minutes of Recent Meeting

The Kenton Lions club held its regular meeting on Wednesday, February 21st, 2024 at the Kenton Elks.

The meeting was called to order at 6:30 pm by Lion President Lion Jason VanBuskirk with 29 members present. Lion President Lion Jason Van Buskirk led with the pledge and Lion Steve Walter led the prayer. The meeting was adjourned for a meal and called back to order by Lion President Jason Vanbuskirk at 6:51 pm.

Guest Speakers:

Two students from Kenton Elementary School gave a presentation on the Leader In Me program implemented at KES. Brielle Bordner, a 4th grader and Calla Campbell a 6th grader, showed members leadership clubs and service projects students chose to take part in to develop leadership skills. They also explained their academic goals called WIGS (Wildly Important Goals) and Leadership Goals they set and have achieved throughout the school year. Fifth Grade Teacher Morgan Sherman also informed the
group of KES achieving Lighthouse Status and hosting their 2nd Leadership Day at KES on March 20th from 8:30-12:00 at KES.

Lions Roar: Lion Todd reviewed the show format and skits with members to finish the meeting. He reminded members of upcoming practices for the Roar on March 9th and
10th.

Meeting was adjourned at 8:20 pm. Followed by the singing of the Lions Roar.
