Lima Man Suffers Life-Threatening Injuries in Roll Over Crash in Allen County

A Lima man suffered life-threatening injuries in a crash that occurred on Interstate 75 in Allen County Monday evening.

According to a release from the Lima Post of the Ohio State Highway patrol, 65 year old Cary J. Hengstler drove off the right side of the road while driving north on 75.

His car struck a ditch, overturned and struck a fence before coming to rest.

Hengstler was ejected from the car and was transported to Lima Memorial Hospital.

Hengstler was reportedly not wearing a seatbelt in this crash.

Assisting troopers on scene was Shawnee Township Police Department, Shawnee Township EMS, Shawnee Township Fire Department, and A&D Towing. 

The crash remains under investigation.

The Ohio State Highway Patrol reminds motorists to always wear a properly adjusted safety belt.
