The Lima Police Department has received several theft reports over the past couple of weeks.

They stated that the thief or thieves are stealing copper pipes from air conditioning units and other fixtures that require copper piping.

The department noted that stealing these pipes causes the air conditioners to malfunction and, in most cases, completely ruins the units.

The Lima Police Department assured residents that officers will be providing extra patrols but wanted to make the community aware of the issue.

If you know someone who is committing these thefts, please contact the Lima Police Department at (419) 227-4444.
