LPD Warns Residents About Scam Phone Calls

Someone attempting to portray themselves as Sergeant Jeff Snyder of the Lima Police Department has been calling residents in Lima this week.

The person is stating he is attempting to serve warrants and collect fines. 

No one by that name works for the Lima Police Department.

Citizens were also advised that the department does not call citizens on their phones attempting to serve warrants or collect payments of any kind. 

This is a scam and residents should never give any personal information out over the phone, unless they are absolutely certain who the person is on the other end of the line.
