The Hardin County Fair Board is implementing new parking lot changes to allow for guests to be safer while also preventing traffic backups on Letson avenue while guests exit the grounds after the fair closes.
East Parking Lot:
On busier nights, traffic exiting the East will only be able to turn right out of the parking lot onto Letson Ave. Eastbound toward Main Street and State Route 31. When this traffic procedure is being implemented, motorists will be directed by members of the Hardin County Mounted Posse or Hardin County Sheriff’s Office Deputies.
West Parking Lot:
Fair guests entering the West parking lot will now enter through a newly created gate on Letson Ave. near Suburban Propane. After parking their vehicles, guests will walk into the fair and present their tickets via the gate on the West driveway. The old West Walk-in gate is now perminatley closed.
The West driveway will only be utilized for On-Grounds parking permits and grandstand contestants.
Upon leaving, guests will exit to the west to a newly installed gate and must turn left toward US 68 and Fontaine Street. Personnel from the Hardin County Mounted Posse and the Hardin County Sheriff’s Office will be on hand to assist in directing traffic.
ADA Accessible parking will be available in the front of the parking lot, as well as in the community building and shelter house parking lots with an on-grounds permit.
