Kenton Mayor Lynn Webb announced the hiring of Jon Cross as a consultant for the City of Kenton.
At this week’s city council meeting, the mayor stated that the decision is aimed at bolstering economic development and securing funding for various local projects.
Cross is a former State Representative and the founder of Cross Capital Consulting, and he will be working under a $1,000 monthly contract to assist the city with government affairs and advocacy.
Cross provided an overview of his consulting firm, and he expressed enthusiasm for helping Kenton navigate the complexities of funding acquisition, particularly highlighting the need for a strategic approach in securing grants and support from state and federal resources.
He mentioned a potential grant from Jobs Ohio for downtown revitalization, which could provide up to a million dollars to the city.
His role aims to complement existing city efforts while actively seeking ways to enhance funding and support for the community’s needs.
More details, along with the full city council meeting video, can be found on the City of Kenton Government‘s Facebook page.
