An important update was recently announced by Pastor Anita VanBuskirk of Kenton Full Gospel Church regarding the Bread of Life Food Pantry.
According to Pastor VanBuskirk, the furnace serving the Food Pantry—separate from the main church furnace—was recently inspected and found to have a defective heat exchanger. For safety reasons, the furnace cannot be repaired and must be completely replaced in order for the Food Pantry to continue operating.
Church leaders also shared that the main church furnace is aging and not in good condition, requiring careful and prayerful consideration when deciding how limited funds are used to keep the church open and operational.
If the church is unable to afford a replacement furnace for the Food Pantry, officials say the pantry may be forced to cease operations, particularly during the winter months. While leaders say this is not a decision they want to make, safety concerns and responsible stewardship must come first.
The estimated cost to replace the Food Pantry furnace is between $8,000 and $10,000.
Those who feel led to help are encouraged to do so through donations, sharing the message, or prayer. All contributions would go directly toward keeping the Bread of Life Food Pantry open and continuing to serve families in the community.
Kenton Full Gospel Church is located at 129 North Wayne Street in Kenton.
