At a special meeting held this week, the Hardin County Agricultural Society voted to rescind a motion to approve alcohol sales during the Saturday night concert at the Hardin County Fair.
The motion to approve alcohol sales was made at the regular meeting on July 10, and the action to rescind it was taken after information from the Ohio Attorney General Office regarding alcohol sales at a fair was reviewed.
According to that office, in order to engage in alcohol sales during the fair, the fair’s constitution and by-laws need to be updated accordingly.
Those updates can only be made at the Fair Board’s annual meeting, which is held in November.
With that in mind, the motion to sell alcohol during the concert was rescinded by a unanimous vote, which means there will be no alcohol sold during the 2024 concert at the Hardin County Fair.
