Hardin Northern 5th Graders Get Up-Close Look at Sheriff’s K-9 Unit

Hardin Northern 5th grade D.A.R.E. students had a chance to experience the Hardin County Sheriff’s K-9 Unit on Tuesday.

The students learned all about the purpose and training of the K-9 Unit, how the dogs pick up scents, and how they help officers in the field.

One of the highlights was watching a live demonstration of the K-9 apprehending a perpetrator, which was a hit with the kids.

School officials thanked the Hardin County Sheriff’s Department for taking the time to teach the students.
