Indian Lake State Park announced a new AIS (aquatic invasive species) cleaning station is that is now available at Moundwood for all boaters.  Indian Lake State Park invite guests to help protect the lake with the easy-to-use cleaning station.

The AIS station is located by the recycling station. They reminded boaters that cleaning, draining and drying your boat helps prevent the spread of invasive species.

The Ohio Department of Natural Resources states that aquatic invasive species are plants and animals living in and degrading the quality of Ohio waterways. Species like zebra mussels, bighead and silver carp, and curlyleaf pondweed are changing the dynamics of our underwater habitats.

The ODNR provided a few tips for the public on how they can help to reduce the spread of aquatic invasive species by reporting suspected aquatic invasive species and by cleaning mud and plant fragments from boats, propellers, trailers, and all gear including boots before leaving a waterbody.
