Sudden Cardiac Arrest (SCA) is a life-threatening emergency that occurs when the heart suddenly stops beating, often without warning, and can affect individuals of all ages, including children.

Unlike a heart attack, SCA is typically caused by a structural or electrical issue within the heart and can be fatal if not treated immediately.

The best way to protect your child is through early screening to assess their risk.

Kenton High School is offering low-cost heart screenings on Tuesday, May 20th—this will be the final opportunity for at least the next two school years.

These screenings, performed by the nationally recognized nonprofit MCORE Foundation, are aimed at preventing SCA in youth and young adults through education, screening, and research.

Open to students in grades 7–12, particularly athletes, the screenings will take place in the KHS Office Conference Room. Thanks to generous donations, the cost has been reduced to just $20.
