The Kenton High School Quiz Bowl team has earned a berth to the 2026 Small School National Championship Tournament (SSNCT), hosted by the National Academic Quiz Tournaments (NAQT), following a top-four finish at the inaugural Hancock–Hardin–Logan (HHL) League Tournament. The event was hosted at Kenton High School.

Team members include Parker Benson, Jackson Blue, Georgia Cameron, Ia Esebua, Cale Harshfield, Addie Hites, Richard Huang, Tate Ketcham, Katie Lowe, Jace Murphy, Ashkii Smith, Jack Whitmer, and Presley Wilson.

Prior to the tournament, Richard Huang, Presley Wilson, and Tate Ketcham were recognized with All-League honors for their outstanding performance during the regular season.

This qualification marks the second consecutive year that Kenton has advanced to the Small School National Championship, which will be held this spring in Rosemont, Illinois, just outside of Chicago.

“I’m incredibly proud of the growth this team has shown,” said head coach Todd Daquino. “They’ve put in the work, supported one another, and earned another opportunity to compete on the national stage. I’m excited to see what they do against some of the best small-school teams in the country.”

In addition to qualifying for the SSNCT, the Kenton Quiz Bowl team has also earned a spot in the Ohio State Quiz Bowl Tournament, which will be held later this year at Bellefontaine High School.

The team will continue its season with upcoming competitions at Ada, Wright State Lake Campus, and the Western Buckeye League (WBL) Tournament.
