Kenton Rotary members heard from Deb Curlis at a recent meeting.
For the last 5 years Deb Curlis, Executive Director of Beatitudes in Ada, Ohio and her group of faithful volunteers have been serving Ada, Hardin and surrounding counties. Beatitudes has its roots in Ada and was formally known as the Restore. The community center provides monthly community meals, retail and activities to encourage fellowship.
The food pantry offers a variety of nutritious foods, hygiene and cleaning supply available to all who need them. Beatitudes also offers community support when the ends don’t meet by providing emergency service and assistance to those in need.
Whether it is helping someone with a heating bill or responding to a call in the middle of the night from a family that has experienced the loss of a house in a fire and needs clothes and a warm place to stay, Deb and her faithful are there to help.
Beatitudes is funded through grant money, monetary donation and the income generated by the BEE Home store. Community members can donate clothing, toys, purses, jewelry, kitchen items, and small appliances as well as other goods. These goods are then offered for sale at minimal prices.
In 2025 the food pantry helped almost 700 people.
4,770 meals were served during their Summer Lunch Program. 1,505 were served during the community meals.
