A shooting in Lima Tuesday night claimed the life of a man from that city.

According to a release from the Lima Police Department, officers were dispatched at around 10:40 Tuesday night after a 9-1-1 caller reported a resident at 438 South Kenilworth was shot.

Officers arrived and found 31-year-old Nick Roach lying outside of his residence and suffering from a gunshot wound to the abdomen.

Patrol Officers performed CPR until Emergency Medical Personnel arrived and took over life saving measures.

Roach was transported to Mercy Health St. Rita’s Medical Center, however he never regained consciousness and was pronounced dead shortly after arriving at the Hospital.

Detectives were contacted to respond and investigate the shooting death and they are following up on several leads.
