A McComb man was arrested early Wednesday morning after a domestic incident in Findlay.

According to a release from the Findlay Police Department, officers were dispatched to room at the Townplace Suites after a 9-1-1 call was received regarding a female being strangled by her boyfriend.

Officers located the victim, who had injuries consistent with being strangled.

She reported that her boyfriend, 31- year -old Jamie Hoverman, while intoxicated assaulted her and strangled her to the point of unconsciousness several times throughout the evening and then fled the hotel room on foot prior to police arriving on scene.

While officers were interviewing the victim, a separate officer located a pickup truck driving recklessly on Tiffin Avenue near Bright Road and attempted to initiate a traffic stop.

The driver of the pickup truck, later identified as Hoverman, lost control and crashed on Bright Road near Shore Blvd.

He then fled from the crash on foot but was subdued and placed under arrest.

It was learned that Hoverman allegedly stole the vehicle at a nearby hotel.

Hoverman is being held in the Hancock County Justice Center on charges of kidnapping, strangulation, receiving stolen property, obstructing official business, resisting arrest and failure to disclose personal information.
