Nine New Cadets Begin Training to Become Ohio Natural Resources Officers
Ohio Department of Natural Resource’s Division of Parks and Watercraft has officially welcomed nine new cadets who are beginning their journey to become Natural Resources Officers.
Among them is Brandon Gamble, of Bellefontaine.
He and the other eight recruits were selected from a highly competitive pool of 366 applicants and begin their training at the Ohio State Highway Patrol Peace Officer Basic Training Academy this week. Over the next five months, they’ll learn everything from water rescues and ATV operation to Ohio’s natural resource laws.
Once they graduate in January 2026, they’ll be assigned to various Ohio State Parks.
Indian Lake State Park officials expressed their appreciation for Gamble, who served as a lifeguard and seasonal maintenance employee.
