The Northern Hardin County Fire Department will host an open house on Sunday, October 25.
The event will take place from 1:00 until 5:00 p.m. at the Dunkirk Fire Station, located at 201 North Main Street in Dunkirk.
The district is asking voters to approve a five-year tax levy to fund construction of a new, stand-alone building to supplement the existing fire station, which was built in 1966.
According to the district, the current station has run out of room, with its fire trucks and equipment leaving limited space for additional needs.
The open house will give residents an opportunity to ask questions, see the current station conditions firsthand and speak with the volunteer firefighters who serve the community.
