The month of October is National Pedestrian Safety Month.
Ohio State Highway Patrol statistics show that there were 2582 pedestrian related crashes in Ohio in 2023.
To reduce pedestrian crashes, it takes caution from both motorists and pedestrians.
Motorists should slow down and be prepared to stop when turning or otherwise entering a crosswalk.
Pedestrians should walk on sidewalks whenever they are available.
