Detroit Street between Eliza Street and Carrol Street in the city of Kenton is now slated to close starting June 2 for the Ohio Department of Transportation’s reconstruction project.

The full depth reconstruction project, which was originally scheduled to start May 5, will include new curb, curb ramps, and sidewalks.

That section will be closed for approximately 180 days, which would be early December.

It is separate from the city’s revitalization project that currently has Detroit Street closed from Ohio to Carrol Street.

That section is expected to reopen in late July.
