ODOT’s District 1 Congratulates Hardin County Highway Technician Austin Garman for Winning Third Place at 2024 Statewide Roadeo
The Ohio Department of Transportation’s NW Ohio District 1 recently congratulated Hardin County Highway Technician Austin Garman who took third place in the Loader competition in the 2024 Statewide Roadeo.
Each of Ohio’s 12 districts hosts their own annual Roadeo and the winners from district then take part in the statewide competition.
The Roadeo is a friendly competition that puts equipment operators from all over the state against one another to test their skill of maneuvering equipment through obstacles and scenarios that mimic situations that they may encounter on the job.
They also must find deliberate mechanical issues during inspections and pass a test that quizzes them on rules and laws about CDLs.
