
Ohio Army National Guard Soldiers were honored Sunday during deployment ceremonies in Columbus ahead of overseas missions.
Approximately five members of the Ohio Army National Guard’s Engineer Advisor Team 6522, part of the 5th Battalion, 54th Security Force Assistance Regiment, were recognized as they prepare to deploy in support of U.S. Central Command. About ten Soldiers from the Ohio Army National Guard’s 296th Engineer Detachment were also honored before their deployment in support of U.S. European Command.
The public attended the ceremonies at the Maj. Gen. Robert S. Beightler Armory on West Dublin Granville Road.
The ceremony for Engineer Advisor Team 6522 took place at 11 a.m., followed by a 1 p.m. ceremony for the 296th Engineer Detachment.
