Ohio First Lady Fran DeWine will welcome the Second Lady of the United States, Usha Vance, to a special book reading event at the Ohio State Fair on Monday, July 28th at 1pm.

The event will be held at the Ohio Department of Natural Resources Pavilion in the Natural Resources Park, located at 717 E. 17th Avenue in Columbus.

Both Ms. Vance and Mrs. DeWine are passionate supporters of early literacy. Second Lady Vance created the Second Lady
Summer Reading Challenge, which is open to every child in kindergarten through 8th grade, and encourages children to continue learning throughout the summertime through reading.

As First Lady of Ohio, Fran DeWine has promoted Dolly Parton’s Imagination Library of Ohio where kids ages 0-5 can receive a free book in the mail each month.

During the event, Ms. Vance and Mrs. DeWine will participate in a short fireside chat conversation, and host a book reading.

Following the book reading, kids will be invited to take part in a scavenger hunt in the Natural Resources Park.
