The Ohio State Highway Patrol recognized the important work of its Crime Laboratory during this National Forensic Science Week.

The OSP Crime Laboratory is comprised of two sections: Scientific Services and Property.

The Scientific Services Section is comprised of both drug chemistry and toxicology analysis, each of them routinely handling over 10,000 samples per year.

The Property Section oversees the intake of all evidence submitted to the Crime Laboratory for testing, storage and destruction.

The Property team ensures the evidence is properly sealed, accurately documented and maintains the storage of over 48,000 pieces of evidence.
