Public Hearings Scheduled in Kenton on Charter City Initiative and Downtown Revitalization District

A public hearing to discuss the Charter City initiative for Kenton will be held September 16.

That was announced at the Kenton City Council meeting Monday evening.

It will start at 6pm on that Tuesday evening in the gymnasium of the Kenton Elementary School.

4th Ward Council member Chad Miller said he is also inviting the Commission candidates to participate.

Miller encouraged to the public to attend.

Also at Monday’s meeting, City Law Director John Schwemer announced that a public hearing will be held on the Downtown Revitalization District proposal will start at 7pm, prior to the next regular council meeting on September 22 in the City Building.

The just over 47-acre district would include most of the Downtown Historic District.

This would create more D5 liquor license opportunities in the hopes of attracting more restaurants to that space.
