The Roundhead Fire Department is reminding residents that Upper Scioto Valley Ambulance District will hold a public meeting this evening at 6:00 p.m.
Community members are strongly encouraged to attend. Public participation allows residents to hear information firsthand and take part in the discussion.
Officials say an informed community is an empowered community.
The Upper Scioto Valley Ambulance District is exploring options for a new facility after determining the current building in Alger does not meet state requirements for 24/7 operations.
Officials say the existing facility was designed for ambulance storage and office space—not as living quarters for staff. As a result, employees currently lack proper sleeping areas, cooking space, showers after difficult calls, and safe shelter during severe weather.
While the facility has served the district well, leaders say it can no longer support the needs of the staff or remain compliant with state regulations. After careful research and financial review, the district is exploring new options to continue providing reliable emergency services.
The meeting will start at 6pm this evening at 207 E. Wagner Street in Alger.
