The group Rescue Grove Chapel is on a mission to, as the name implies, save the chapel inside Grove Cemetery in Kenton.
The building has fallen into a state of disrepair over the years, but a group of individuals have stepped up to prevent it from being demolished.
The group’s co-chair Ron Rogers said that will start with fixing the roof. He said the project has the full support of the cemetery board……Their idea was safety, and if we can make it safe, they’re all for it, and that’s what we’re going to do. We’re going to put that new roof on it, and that will keep the slate from flying off and hurting somebody or anything else. It will also help dry out the inside from the leaks and stuff.”
For the complete discussion with Rogers, along with Co-Chair Jennifer Ramge, tune in Public Eye Saturday morning at 7:30 and Sunday at noon on WKTN.
