‘Run to the Moon’ Returns to Wapakoneta on July 19

Runners and space enthusiasts alike are invited to Wapakoneta on Saturday, July 19, 2025, for the annual Run to the Moon event at the Armstrong Air & Space Museum.

This year’s race includes a 10K, 5K, and 1-mile fun run, with the 10K starting at 8:15 a.m., followed by the 5K and 1-mile races at 8:30 a.m.

Held in conjunction with the Summer Moon Festival, the event celebrates the anniversary of the moon landing in the hometown of astronaut Neil Armstrong. Participants will enjoy a course that starts and finishes at the museum named in his honor.

Medals will be awarded to the first 500 runners, so early registration is encouraged.

Whether you’re a returning runner or a first-time participant, there is plenty of fun and meaningful experiences for all ages.
