Severe Weather Threatens Region: Wind Advisory and Flood Watch Issued

The National Weather Service in Wilmington has issued a Wind Advisory and Flood Watch Hardin County and surrounding areas. Residents across the region are urged to remain alert as hazardous weather moves in this afternoon through evening.

A Wind Advisory is in effect from 10 AM this morning until midnight tonight, with strong gusts up to 50mph expected throughout the day.

In addition, a Flood Watch begins this evening and extends through Sunday morning, with the potential for heavy rainfall leading to rising water levels and flash flooding in some areas.

Severe thunderstorms are also possible later this evening and into the night, bringing the risk of damaging winds, heavy rain, localized flooding and the possibility of tornadoes.
