Hardin County Sheriff Keith Everhart was part of the National Sheriff’s Association visit to our nation’s capital.
Sheriff Everhart called it a tremendous few days in Washington where he said letters of support for funding Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) and Customs and Border Protection (CBP) were delivered.
He said without these partner agencies working to protect the southern border, the drugs and crime in Hardin County County will only get worse.
Everhart also heard Acting Attorney General Matthew Whitaker and Secretary of Homeland Security Kirstjen Nielsen speak on the importance of local, state and federal collaboration and partnerships to keep our community safe.
He added Hardin County is being represented and and their efforts are making a difference.
