Work on the slate roof of the Chapel at Grove Cemetery is scheduled to start in October.

According to information on the Rescue Grove Chapel Facebook page, the materials are forecast to arrive in September.

Once started, the project is anticipated to take 5 to 6 weeks to complete.

Project Goals and Long-Term Vision

The restoration of the Grove Chapel aims to preserve it as a lasting symbol of the community’s strength and resilience for generations to come.

The restoration is being approached in phases to ensure careful planning and continuity of care:

  • Phase I – Roof, Exterior, Safety, & Weatherproofing
  • Phase II – Interior, Walls, Floor, Safety, & Use
  • Phase III – Maintenance and Planning

The Grove Chapel Rescue Committee is made up of a team of dedicated volunteers who are committed to rescuing the Chapel from advancing deterioration and restoring the structure to its original design and purpose.

The Committee is chaired by Mr. Ron Rogers and co-chaired by Ms. Jennifer Ramge. You can meet all the members of the Grove Chapel Rescue Committee and learn more about the project by visiting grovecemeterychapel.org.
