U.S. 68 between Summit Street and Washington Street in the village of Dunkirk will close this Monday August 4 for utility work.

It is expected to be closed for approximately seven days, and a detour will be in place.

After that, 68 at the railroad crossing, between the village of Dunkirk and Township Road 20, will close August 17 for railroad crossing repair.

That also is expected to be closed for approximately seven days, and a detour will be in place.

The Ohio Department of Transportation gave an update on the reconstruction project of Detroit Street, between Ohio and Carrol Streets, which is managed by the city of Kenton.

It closed beginning January 24 and was originally scheduled to be completed by the end of July, but reopening is now anticipated this fall.

The Detroit Street reconstruction project managed by ODOT, from Eliza to Carrol Streets, which began June 9, is slated to be completed around December 8.
