Two Killed in House Fire Sunday Night in Wapakoneta

Two people were killed in a fire that occurred in Wapakoneta Sunday night.

According to a release from Wapakoneta Fire and EMS, firefighters were dispatched at around 10:15 Sunday night to 409 Park Street.

Upon arrival, firefighters began battling the blaze and conducted search operations.

Two victims were located inside.

They were both transported to Lima Memorial Hospital, and both were later pronounced dead.

At this time, their names are not being released pending notification of next of kin.

The Ohio Fire Marshal’s Office is assisting with the investigation.

Additional information will be released as it becomes available.

Mutual aid was provided by Buckland, Uniopolis, St. John’s and St. Marys Fire Departments, as well as Wapakoneta Police Department, Auglaize County Sheriff’s Office and Ohio State Highway Patrol.
