The United Way of Auglaize County is the 2024 organizer for the Run to the Moon: the 5K, 10K and 1-mile fun run held annually as a part of the Summer Moon Festival in Wapakoneta.

This year’s event will be held at the Armstrong Air and Space Museum, located at 500 Apollo Drive in Wapak, on July 20th

Proceeds from the event will benefit the programs and services their partner agencies offer and provide for the residents of Auglaize County.

Participants will receive a medal and participant t-shirt.  The event will also have Star Wars characters, the chance to meet former NASA Astronaut Carl Walz, post-race goodies like Moon Pies and Dannon yogurt, plus recognition for 1st-, 2nd-, and 3rd-place finishers.
