The Village of Forest experienced what Mayor Dave Book said could have been a major event this past Tuesday night.
There was a water main break found on the east side of the village.
The massive problem was averted due to the people of Forest who showed up to handle the situation.
Mayor Book said the Village Administrator and his crew brough the needed tools and Fire Chief Doug Hankins brought his experience and knowledge to keep them from issuing a boil water advisory.
The crew was able to maintain positive water pressure throughout the crisis, and water quality was never in jeopardy.
The mayor also thanked the Forest Police Department for providing traffic safety at the scene.
