Wilson Sporting Goods workers overwhelmingly turned down the latest contract offer from the company in voting that took place Thursday evening.

Derek Gibson, president of Local 1385 of Workers United, said that 99% of the workers voted against the contract.

Gibson said the union will offer Wilson a 7-day extension in hopes of receiving a reasonable offer.

So far, he said they have had no response from the company.

At the end of the seven days, Gibson said a vote for a strike could be called.

Between 100 and 105 people are employed at the plant in Ada, which produces footballs for the NFL.
