A blast of wintry weather can be expected today.
According to the hazardous weather outlook from the Nation Weather Service, scattered snow showers will occur late this afternoon into the evening.
While any accumulations are forecasted to be light, these snow showers will have the potential to produce quick bursts of snow that could cause rapid decreases in visibility and slick spots on roadways.
In addition, wind gusts up to 40 mph will be possible this evening.
By late tonight into Thursday morning, wind chill readings will fall to between the single digits below zero to the single digits above zero.
Motorists are encouraged to drive with caution.
