The Wyandot County Sheriff’s Office is continuing to seek assistance from the public as it investigates what they are calling a suspicious death that occurred on April 23 in Sycamore Township.

According to a release from Sheriff Todd Frey, the Wyandot County Sheriff’s Office, Wyandot County Major Crimes Unit and the METRICH Enforcement Unit were dispatched to an area on County Highway 9 after receiving a 9-1-1 call from someone who reported that they had just hit someone that was lying in the middle of the road.

Investigators believe two separate vehicle strikes occurred.

The first would have resulted in the victim’s death.

The second strike occurred post-mortem and led to the discovery of the body at around 1:42am.

Authorities have located a video surveillance of a light-colored SUV or Station Wagon that was traveling north on State Highway 231 and then turned west onto County Highway 9 at around 11:34pm on Tuesday April 22.

The vehicle may have front end damage from the incident.

If anyone has any information regarding the vehicle or any information, contact the Wyandot County Sheriff’s Office at 419-294-2362, or you can submit a tip on the Wyandot County Sheriff’s Office App.
