Obituary for Andrew Leon “Andy” Ohler

Andrew Leon “Andy” Ohler passed away peacefully on Wednesday, September 9, 2026, after a courageous three-year battle with cancer at Kenton Nursing and Rehabilitation Center. Andy was born on Wednesday, October 3, 1984, in Kenton to Rusty L. and Debra (Price) Ohler, who survive in Ridgeway.

He welcomed his beloved daughter, Abigail, on July 5, 2026, with Sara Taylor of Kenton. Andy also had a deep love for his bonus children, Lily and Thomas.

In addition to his parents, daughter, and partner, he is survived by his sister, Christina Madden of Ridgeway; his niece, Jacey “Jacey Bug” Madden of Columbus, his nephew, Zachery (Lexie Bibb) Madden of Roanoke, Virginia; his uncles, Ross Ohler of Galion and George Ohler of Kenton; his aunt, Sue (Phil) Ohler of Cardington; and many loving cousins and friends.

He was preceded in death by his paternal grandparents, Ross V. and Doris (Brooks) Ohler; his maternal grandparents, James R. “Jim” and Helen (Zachary) Price; and several aunts and uncles.

Andy graduated from Ridgemont High School in 2003 and later earned a degree in Cinematography from Full Sail University in Florida.

An avid lover of the outdoors, Andy learned to hunt and fish with his father at an early age. He was a passionate collector of horror genre memorabilia—especially anything related to Stephen King—and loved scary movies, music, and discussing them with others. Halloween was his favorite season. He was a dedicated fan of the Cleveland Browns and the Ohio State Buckeyes. Most of all, Andy truly loved his family and was dearly loved in return.

Funeral services will be held at 2:00 P.M. on Monday, September 14, 2026, at the Price-McElroy Funeral Home in Kenton, with burial following at Rushsylvania Cemetery. Friends and family may call three hours prior to the service at the funeral home. In honor of Andy’s favorite teams, the family invites attendees to dress in their favorite Browns or Buckeyes gear.
