Arkada A. Thomas age 82 of Kenton died on Feb. 3, 2025 at Marion General Hospital. She was born Oct. 15, 1942 in Kenton to the late Gilbert and Margaret (Smith) Patchet. She married L. Earl Thomas on Dec. 2, 1960, he preceded her in death on June 9, 2020. Surviving are her children Lynn (Glen) Baughman and Brian (Becky) Thomas, both of Kenton, grandchildren Sarah & Hunter Purdy, Garrett & fiance Addie Buckenroth, Chad & Missy Baughman, Shane & Marie Baughman, great grandchildren Harper Purdy, Mason and Marissa Baughman, Easton and Harriston Baughman, a brother John David “Butch” (0llie) Patchet.
Mrs. Thomas was a 1960 graduate of Marseilles High School. She was a homemaker and helped on the farm, especially Thomas Drainage & Excavation, the business that they owned and operated. She also sold Avon for 35 years. Mrs. Thomas was a 4-H advisor for Hepburn Happy Helpers and Goshen Girls, a member of Painter Creek Grange and Hardin County Pork Producers, she volunteered at Hardin Central Elementary and Espy Elementary.
She collected owls and snowmen, loved to color pictures, read books and would take Sarah & Shane to the library. Her favorite teams were the Pittsburgh Steelers and Ohio State Buckeyes. She loved spending time with her kids and grandkids. Since 2003 she was fighting Progressive Supranuclear Palsy.
Private services will be held with Pastor Betsy Bowen officiating. Interment will be in Chandler Cemetery. Bringman Clark Funeral Home is honored to serve the Thomas family.
