Barbara Lois Hoyt, age 80, of Lima, passed away on Sunday, July 16, 2023, at her home.
She was born on September 11, 1942, to the late Merlin and Virginia Poe.
Barb is survived by her son, Douglas (Amy) Hoyt of Ada; Grandchildren: Stephanie (Mike) Smith of Florida, Haylee Hoyt of Washington Courthouse, Courtney (Joseph) Avilla of Washington Courthouse, Dale (Madison Archer) Hoyt of Ada, Gracie (Shawn) Carmean of Forest and Paige (David) Kiley of Urbana; twelve great grandchildren and one great-great grandchild; three sisters: Kathy (Bill) Miller of McGuffey, Linda (Bobby) Reed of Kenton and Judy Poe of Ada; and a brother, Merlin “Mick” (Kris) Poe of Findlay.
She was preceded in death by a daughter, Laura Crowe; granddaughter, Chelsea Ratiff; two grandsons: Andrew Crowe and Benjamin Crowe; brother, Terry Poe; and special friend, Uni Barnett.
Barb was a graduate of McGuffey Schools. She retired from Nelson Packaging and worked for twenty-five years at Continental Can. She loved playing cards and going to bingo with her sisters. Barb loved and was very proud of all of her family and adored her cat Spunky. She will be sadly missed by her family and friends.
Funeral Services will begin at 12:00 PM on Wednesday, July 19, 2023 at Hanson-Neely-Allison Funeral & Cremation Services, Ada with Rev. Karen Rarey officiating. Burial will be in Dola Cemetery, Dola.
Visitation will be held two hours prior to the service on Wednesday, July 19th from 10:00 AM to 12:00 PM at Hanson-Neely-Allison Funeral & Cremation Services, Ada.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Allen County Humane Society.
