Obituary for Berniece “Bea” Collingsworth

Berniece “Bea” Collingsworth, age 96, of Alger, passed away on Friday, December 26, 2025 at Lima Memorial Health System. 

She was born on July 9, 1929 in McGuffey, Ohio to the late Troy and Lorena (Bradley) Prater.  Bea married Paris F. “Pat” Collingsworth and he preceded her in death on March 4, 1980.  

Bea is survived by her two sons: Paris “Pat” (Beverley) Collingsworth, Jr. of Alger and Steve (Nikki) Collingsworth of Alger; daughter-in-law, Brenda Collingsworth; seven grandchildren, seventeen great grandchildren and sixteen great-great grandchildren; and two sisters: Phyllis Fry of Alger and Linda Dienstberger of Alger. 

Also preceding her in death is her son, G. Michael Collingsworth; daughter-in-law, Peg Collingsworth; three brothers and one sister. 

Bea retired from Excello/Textron.  She was a member of the McGuffey Church of Christ.  Bea was a former Alger Council member and a member of the AMFC. 

Funeral Services will begin at 12:00 PM on Saturday, January 3, 2026 at Hanson-Neely-Allison Funeral & Cremation Services, Alger with David Holbrook officiating.  Burial will be in Preston Cemetery, Alger.  

Visitation will be held two hours prior to the service from 10:00 AM to 12:00 PM on Saturday, January 3rd at Hanson-Neely-Allison Funeral & Cremation Services, Alger.  

Memorial contributions may be made to the McGuffey Church of Christ.
