Obituary for Burl W Hemmerly

Burl W. Hemmerly age 93 of Forest, died at his residence on Nov, 7, 2025. He was born Mar. 20, 1932 in Wyandot Co. to the late Darl and Edna D. (Buxton) Hemmerly. He married Jennie Curtin on Jan. 10, 1951, they had been married almost 75 years and she survives along with his children Deb (Bob) McKee Forest, Dan (Kim) Hord Hemmerly, Forest, 11 grandchildren, 21 great-grandchildren and 11 great-great-grandchildren and a brother-in-law Frank Krischbaum, Findlay.

He is preceded in death by a son Kenny Hemmerly, a daughter-in-law Carol Hemmerly, son-in-law Bud Lamb, sisters Linda Evans and Phyllis Krischbaum, brothers Vern Hemmerly and Ronald Hemmerly. His daughter, Pat Lamb passed on Nov. 10, 2025.

He graduated with the class of 1950 from Forest High School. He was a member of Heritage Christian Union Church, Forest, where he was an elder, past treasurer and superintendent. Mr. Hemmerly worked for Mortan Buildings, UAP, Engineered Wire, Graham Trailer, Jackson Twp. Wyandot County and was a farmer. He enjoyed being outdoors, gardening, both flower and vegetable, cutting wood and attending his grandchildren’s activities.
