
Charles R. Grosso Sr. of Kenton, passed away on Tuesday, December 16, 2025, at the Lima Memorial Hospital. He was born on April 14, 1944, in Marion, Ohio to the late Elenora Shilling. After his mother’s passing, he was adopted by the late Vincent and Minnie (Lester) Grosso.
Charles leaves behind a wife of 47 years, Phoebe (Walker) Grosso, a son, Charles Grosso Jr., a daughter, Debra Fry, granddaughters, Natashia Elsasser, Brittany Hodge, 6 great-grandchildren, Xavier Elsasser, Peyton Elsasser, David McMillen, Cooper McMillen, Camden Mercer, and Easton Spangler.
He was the youngest son of three. He was preceded in death by his brother, Weldon “Skeet” Shilling, and his sister, Nora Shilling.
Charles was a truck driver by trade and an all-around good friend to many. Most of all, he loved his family and was a proud grandpa to all of his grandchildren.
Per Charles’ wishes he will be cremated with a service at a later date. The Price-McElroy Funeral Home in Kenton is assisting the family with arrangements.
Memorial donations in Charles’ honor may be made to the funeral home in care of the family.
