Cory Benjamin “Ben” Shepherd, age 31, passed away in North Carolina on November 30, 2024 after losing his struggle with addiction as many others have, after being clean. He was born March 5, 1993 in Bellefontaine, Ohio.
He is survived by mother Tammy (Kay Eddington) Shepherd; father Shane (Adrene) Hildebrandt; paternal grandmother Charlotte Hildebrandt; maternal grandparents Charles and Myra Shepherd; bonus children Parker, Oaklee, Hynlee; siblings Dylan (Emily) Hildebrandt, Brittnee Hynek and several aunts, uncles, and cousins.
He is preceded in death by paternal grandfather Ernst Hildebrandt.
He served in the United States Army in Korea as a combat medic prior to becoming a invaluable employee of Heartwood landscaping company in North Carolina. He loved music, spending time outdoors, running, hiking, and spending time with his beloved dog, Loretta Lynn.
A Celebration of Cory “Ben’s” life will be held 3pm, Saturday December 7, 2024 at SCHINDEWOLF-STOUT-CRATES FUNERAL HOME. Visitation will be held Saturday from 1pm – 3pm at the funeral home.
