Dan Eugene “Fudgehammer” Hord
May 16, 1956- December 29, 2025

Dan E. Hord, age 69, of Forest, Ohio, reunited with his parents in the early morning hours on December 29th, 2025. Born on May 16, 1956, to the late Robert and Marilyn (Radcliffe) Hord, Dan came into this world alongside his two brothers, Dave and Doug, who quickly realized they were stuck with him.

Dan is survived by his best friend and devoted wife, Jan Hord, who found each other falling in love again every year of their 31 years of marriage. Dan was also a proud father to Brandi Shepherd and stepson Wes Tackett, and a loving grandfather to his grandchildren, Syvanna, Sandy, Slade, Warren, and Bridgette. He would also want to add the most well-behaved family members; his pet rabbits, Buttons and Babs.

Dan was a 1974 graduate of Kenton Senior High, where he was a standout athlete. A three-year varsity K member and All-American senior, Dan’s love for the sport never stopped. Dedicating his life to leadership, he served as a councilman in Kenton, Ohio, and was proud to say he was president of the Durez Union Corp for over twenty years.

He enjoyed many, many things. Among those things were hunting and doing projects with his dad and brothers, dancing in the backyard, watching the Buckeyes play, being the life of the party, and keeping hope alive for the Cleveland Browns.

Dan passed away peacefully and surrounded by family, shortly after knowing that the Browns beat the Steelers, 13 to 6.

At his request there will be no services for Dan. It was his wish to be cremated. The Price-McElroy Funeral Home in Kenton is assisting the family with arrangements.
