Daniel “Dan” F. Stansbery, age 74, of Upper Sandusky unexpectedly passed away Wednesday, November 12, 2025. He was born December 10, 1950 to the late Dorothy Ritter and David Stansbery.
He married the love of his life, Celia Weatherholtz, December 19, 1975, she preceded him in death on August 19, 2025. Dan is survived by his 2 children: Jody (Timothy) Cooper, Spartanburg, SC, and Matthew Stansbery, Upper Sandusky, OH, and grandson Warren Cooper, who was his pride and joy. Also surviving are his two sisters: Gail (Joel) Searls, Upper Sandusky, OH, Sandy (Jose) Amesquita, Upper Sandusky, OH, and brother, Tim Stansbery, Sycamore, OH.
He graduated from Upper Sandusky High School in 1969. He was a member of Apostolic Gospel Church of Upper Sandusky. Dan loved the lord, his family, and fur babies very much. He spent many years of his life caring for adults with disabilities alongside his wife Celia. Dan enjoyed vacationing with his family in Outer Banks, NC and sitting out on the porch to watch the birds. An avid sports fan, Dan enjoyed listening to the Ohio State Buckeyes, Upper Sandusky Rams, Cleveland Guardians, and Cleveland Browns on the radio and occasionally attending a game to support the Rams.
Dan’s passing has left a void in the hearts of his family, friends, church family, and many more whose lives were touched by him. Comfort is found knowing he is now reunited with the love of his life, Celia Mae, and our lord and savior Jesus Christ, a day in which he looked forward to.
A celebration of life will be held at a later date.
