
Donald “Don” Houchin passed away December 3, 2025, at the Gables of Marysville.
He was born in Belle Center, Ohio on June 24, 1935, to the late Lewis and Maude Houchin.
He married Lillian Ross, and they were parents to Don (Kim) Houchin, Jr. of Bellefontaine, Tami (Bill) Lowe of Marysville, Lance (Bev) Houchin of Belle Center and Kelly (Chris) Leasure of Bellefontaine. They later divorced.
In 1986 Don married Linda (Jordan) Day. She survives in Mount Victory, as well as stepdaughter, Gina (McKinley) Messner also of Mount Victory.
He was grandfather to 12, great grandfather to 18 and had just become a great-great grandfather.
Don was preceded in death by brother, Gerald Houchin and nephew, Gary Houchin.
He graduated in 1953 from Belle Center, attended GMI and was a master mechanic owning Houchin Garage there for several decades.
No services for Don are planned at this time. Private graveside services will be held at a later date. The Price-McElroy Funeral Home in Mt. Victory is assisting the family with arrangements.
The family invites friends to celebrate Don’s legacy by supporting the Village of Belle Center through memorial donations at P.O. Box 508, Belle Center, Ohio 43310.
