A family service for Donald E. Garrison will be held at a later date. It was his wish to be cremated. The Price-McElroy Funeral Home in Mt. Victory is assisting the family with arrangements.
Donald passed away on Tuesday, May 7, 2024, at Logan Acres in Bellefontaine after a long fight with Parkinsons and the last few months with Alzheimer’s. He was born May 17, 1949, in Columbus, Ohio to the late Leslie and Marjorie (Wiley) Garrison. He grew up at Indian Lake and always said that it was the best place ever to be.
Don served in the US Army and after getting out of the military, started a career with the Salvation Army and became a minister. After moving back to Ohio from Illinois, he worked for Walmart in Bellefontaine.
Surviving is a son, Nick (Fallyn) Garrison and their daughter, Hannah from Oklahoma, a daughter, Angel Figueroa, and her children, Tyler, Selena, and Patrick of Illinois, a sister, Charlyne Sloan of the state of Washington, and his dearest friend, Angela Phipps who was always there for him, as well as many nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents and siblings.
Memorial donations in Don’s honor may be made to Logan Acres.
